Meyers’s clean sweep
Bert and Klaus Meyers, owners of Dempsey’s and Wurst Bier Hall, made a clean sweep, bringing home five awards. Awards went to Matt Bengston at Wurst for Best Server. Alison Buecksler of Dempsey’s received Best Bartender. Dempsey’s received awards for Best Karaoke Bar. The Aquarium, located above Dempsey’s, received Best Small Venue. Wurst Bier Hall also received the Best Lunch award.
Sidestreet
Sidestreet won Best Bar and bartender Andrew Hardy won the Best Mixologist award.
JL Beers
JL Beers brought home the bacon, with the awards for Best Burger and Best Craft Beer Selection.
Hip to be a Rhombus
Rhombus Guys received dual awards for Best Pizza and Best Outdoor Patio.
Speaking of Mezzaluna…
Mezzaluna received dual awards as well. Eric Watson won Best Chef, and Mezzaluna itself won the Best Fine Dining award.
Back to back…
Drunken Noodle received an award for best late-night menu, while Wasabi (located in the back of Drunken Noodle) got Best Sushi.
Shack shaker
Shake Shack won Best Breakfast, and also got the “Best Comfort Food” award.
Dynasties
Sweet victory
Nichole Hanson of Nichole’s Fine Pastry continues to be the uncontested queen of desserts, bringing home the award for Best Desserts.
Did somebody say tacos?
Vinyl Taco brought back its third consecutive award for Best Taco.
First-timer
Taco Brothers received the award for Best Food Truck in the category’s inaugural run.
All In The Family
Paul Johnson of 46 and 2 Tattoo received the award for Best Tattoo Artist, while his niece Megan Johnson received the Best Emerging Artist award. Unfortunately both parties were unable to attend. Fortunately Kaye Johnson, who is both Paul’s mother and Megan’s grandmother, was able to accept the award on their behalf.
